Privacy Policy

Last Updated: April 15, 2025

Welcome to LofiFoundation.com (the “Site”), the official platform of the Lofi Foundation, an initiative powered by the broader $LOFI community. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information through the Site and associated donation mechanisms built on the Sui blockchain.

By accessing or using this Site, including connecting a wallet or making a donation, you agree to the practices outlined here. If you do not agree, please discontinue use.

1. Who We Are

The Lofi Foundation is an initiative of the Lofi project, aiming to fund environmental and humanitarian impact using on-chain donations and blockchain transparency. This Privacy Policy refers to “we,” “us,” or “our” as the Lofi Foundation team operating this Site.

For all data-related inquiries, please contact:

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Wallet and Blockchain Data

  • Public Wallet Address: If you connect a wallet, we collect your public wallet address. This identifier is used to record your donations, assign impact points, and display on our leaderboard.

  • Donation Transaction Data: Transactions (amount, timestamp, sender and receiver addresses, and transaction hash) are logged from the Sui blockchain and reflected publicly on our Site.

  • User Profile (if enabled): We do not currently offer account systems. All participation is pseudonymous, linked only to your wallet. If in the future we allow display names or donation messages, they would be public and voluntary.

2.2 Usage and Technical Data

  • IP Address & Device Info: Collected via server logs and Cloudflare for analytics, security, and abuse prevention. This includes browser type, device OS, and referral source.

  • Site Interaction: We monitor interface usage (e.g., clicks, donation attempts, leaderboard views) to detect bugs and improve UX.

  • Cookies & Local Storage: We use minimal cookies/local data to:

    • Remember your wallet connection during a session

    • Store UI preferences (e.g., dismissing pop-ups) No ad tracking or behavioral targeting cookies are used.

2.3 Third-Party Data (e.g., Hello Moon API)

  • If your browser fetches blockchain metrics from services like Hello Moon, their servers may receive your IP address and request path.

  • These third-party tools provide public-chain data insights only and are not used for user profiling.

2.4 Voluntary Contact

If you reach out via email or another support channel, we collect:

  • Your email or handle

  • Contents of your message

  • Any supporting info you voluntarily include

We use this only to respond or provide support.

3. Public Data Display

Transparency is a core feature of this platform. If you donate:

  • Your wallet address and donation amount will be publicly displayed on the leaderboard or impact stats page.

  • Your cumulative total, impact contributions (e.g., “100kg ocean plastic removed”), and badges may also be shown.

  • Wallets are sometimes abbreviated (e.g., 0xABCD...1234) but are still identifiable.

If anonymity is desired, users may donate using a new wallet not linked to their identity.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the data we collect to:

  • Record and display donations on the blockchain and our leaderboard

  • Calculate real-world impact metrics (e.g., plastic removed, bottles funded) using donation data and preset conversion formulas

  • Award points and badges (e.g., “Top Donor”) based on wallet activity

  • Provide session-based personalization, such as showing your current donation total when your wallet is connected

  • Monitor platform health and fraud, detect abuse, and protect infrastructure

  • Respond to inquiries you send via email or Telegram

  • Comply with laws or respond to legal inquiries as needed

We do not use your data for marketing, advertising, or tracking outside this Site.

5. Legal Bases (GDPR Notice)

If you are in the EU, UK, or another GDPR-aligned region, we process your data under the following legal bases:

  • Performance of a Contract: To show your donation and impact, as expected by you.

  • Consent: Your wallet connection and donation imply your agreement to data usage.

  • Legitimate Interests: We log and display public data to ensure transparency, encourage community participation, and protect our systems.

  • Legal Obligation: We may retain or share certain data when required by law.

6. Sharing and Disclosure

We may share your data only under the following circumstances:

6.1 Public Display

Your wallet address and donation info will be publicly displayed on the Site.

6.2 Service Providers

We use reputable third-party providers such as:

  • Cloudflare (hosting, security)

  • Hello Moon or other blockchain APIs (data aggregation)

  • RPC/Node providers (to broadcast or read transactions)

These parties only process technical or public-chain data necessary for functionality.

6.3 Internal Sharing

The Lofi Foundation operates within the broader Lofi project. Data may be shared between our own project websites and services (e.g., displaying your donation on lofitheyeti.com).

6.4 Legal Requirements

We may disclose data to comply with:

  • Court orders or legal requests

  • Sanctions enforcement

  • Fraud prevention obligations

6.5 Business Transfers

If the Foundation evolves (e.g., becomes a formal nonprofit), data may transfer to successor entities under the same privacy commitments.

6.6 With Your Consent

In any scenario beyond those listed, we will request your explicit consent before sharing.

7. Cookies and Tracking

What We Use:

  • Session Cookies: To manage wallet connections temporarily.

  • Local Storage: To store display preferences or wallet info within a single device.

We do not use:

  • Advertising cookies

  • Cross-site tracking

  • Google Analytics

You may clear cookies or local storage via your browser at any time. Doing so may require you to reconnect your wallet or lose in-session progress.

8. Data Retention

  • Blockchain data is permanent and cannot be erased.

  • Off-chain donation logs (wallet, donation amounts, impact points) are retained indefinitely unless a deletion request is honored.

  • IP logs and session data are kept temporarily (usually 30–60 days) unless flagged for abuse/security.

  • Email/support communication may be archived indefinitely to resolve future issues or track abuse.

We do not over-retain and periodically purge unnecessary data, especially technical logs.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access your off-chain donation data

  • Request correction of display errors (e.g., wrong donation total)

  • Request deletion from our off-chain systems (note: we cannot erase blockchain data)

  • Object to public display, and request anonymization

  • Withdraw consent (e.g., ask to remove optional display info like messages or badges)

To make a request, email us at [email protected]. We may ask for wallet signature verification to confirm ownership of the address in question.

10. Data Security

We implement robust security practices:

  • SSL encryption (HTTPS)

  • Access controls and admin-only dashboards

  • Cloudflare firewall and DDoS protection

  • Secure backups and disaster recovery plans

  • Smart contract audits (if applicable)

Users are responsible for their wallet security — we do not control your funds or wallet access.

11. Children's Privacy

This Site is not intended for children under 13, or under 16 in jurisdictions with stricter age rules. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has interacted with the Site, please contact us immediately.

12. International Use

By using this Site, you consent to having your data transferred and processed in the United States and other countries where our infrastructure or providers may be located. We rely on standard contractual clauses and data privacy frameworks where applicable.

Please note: Blockchain transactions are public and global by design and not subject to geographic restrictions.

13. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. The latest version will always appear on this page, with the date of last revision clearly indicated.

Material updates may be announced via the Site or our social channels.

Continued use of the Site after any change constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
